Late Spring Operations
High alpine spring vibes can be enjoyed all the way into May at Breck!
High Five to Spring Vibes into May
Spring is one of our favorite times of the year at Breck. High Alpine, good vibes and great events, impeccable style — what's not to love?!
Thanks to a base elevation of 9,600 feet above sea level — including the highest chairlift in North America, the Imperial SuperChair — and the good work of our friend, Ullr, Breck often boasts spectacular spring snow conditions, offering one of the longest-running ski seasons of any major resort in the country. This year, the resort plans to operate through Sunday, May 11.
Beginning in late April, intermediate-, advanced- and expert-level skiers and riders can celebrate spring and get on snow long after many resorts have closed for the season, with access to signature high alpine terrain across Peaks 6, 7 and 8. Warmer weather, long sunny days, goggle tans and the occasional spring powder day — sign us up!
Heads up! There is no beginner terrain available during late spring operations, and all skiing and riding is intermediate-and-above level terrain.
Late Spring Operating Plans
All Five Peaks will remain open through Sunday, April 13. Beginning Monday, April 14 we will start to move to our late season operating footprint. While operations are always subject to change, and Mother Nature has the ultimate say since everything on mountain is weather and conditions dependent, if everything goes according to plan, here is what’s on tap for our late season operations. We’re planning to ski and ride through Sunday, May 11, 2025!
Please be advised, starting Monday, April 21 there will no beginner terrain available during late season operations. The following lifts will operate for late spring skiing and riding from 9 AM to 4 PM:
Peak 8
Base area access out of Peak 8 is planned through April 27; after that all access to late season skiing and riding will be out of Peak 7 and the Independence SuperChair.
- Colorado SuperChair (through April 27)
- Imperial SuperChair
- T-Bar
Peak 7
- Independence SuperChair
Peak 6
- Zendo Chair
- Kensho SuperChair
BreckConnect Gondola
The BreckConnect Gondola will operate daily through April 30, 2025 for access to skiing and riding. After April 30, the BreckConnect Gondola will be closed for the season until we open for summer operations on Friday, June 13. This is a part of our collaboration with the Town of Breckenridge to help support the health of the Cucumber Gulch Preserve and wildlife that migrates through the gulch and under the gondola in the spring. Starting May 1, after the closure of the BreckConnect Gondola, buses will be used to transport skiers and riders up to the resort.
Ski & Snowboard School Lessons
Group and private lessons with the Breckenridge Ski & Snowboard School will be available through Sunday, April 20. For information and to book, visit our Ski & Snowboard School page.
Peaks & Beats, April 26-27
Springtime at Breck is all about good vibes and the high alpine, and we're bringing it all together with our new spring bash: Peaks & Beats. Double down on your favorite spring staples — high alpine laps, live music and DJs, and the iconic pond skimming tradition — now with a two-day format for twice the Breck energy!
That’s right: two days of free concerts and two days of pond skimming. Send it into spring in style with us at Peaks & Beats, happening at the center of the universe — the base of Peak 8.
After Saturday’s pond skim, Dombresky will take the stage for a free DJ set, followed by Cassian throwing it down after Sunday's pond skim session.
Costumes aren't required, but they’re strongly encouraged — so break out your favorite onesie, brightest neon, or most water-resistant denim and join the fun!
Registration for pond skim is expected to open in April. Find all the details on the Peaks & Beats weekend here.
