Frequently Asked Questions (FAQS)

New features will be launching within the My Epic app that elevate the entire Ski & Snowboard School journey from start to finish. The enhanced experience will be available at Vail Mountain, Beaver Creek, Breckenridge and Keystone, allowing guests to check-in digitally, receive real-time lesson and photo updates, track skill progression over time and across resorts, and receive badges for milestones achieved.
Starting in December 2025, guests will be able to access a new set of features available in the My Epic app for participants of child and adult group lessons at Vail Mountain, Beaver Creek, Breckenridge and Keystone. The full technology will be expanded to more resorts and lesson types in future seasons, but guests at our 37 North American owned and operated resorts will be able to view upcoming and past group lessons in the My Epic App in December 2025.
The new Ski & Snowboard School experience will be included with your group lesson at no extra charge at participating resorts. Once you’ve booked a lesson, you will be able to access the new experience through the My Epic app via your mobile device. To get the My Epic app, download it from the Apple App Store or Google Play App Store and then log in to your My Epic Account.
The new features in the My Epic app enable digital check-in, making it easy to complete pre-lesson requirements and find your lesson meeting point, all from within the app on your mobile device.

From there, parents of younger guests can stay connected with real-time updates during the lesson, including on-mountain photos and badges earned for milestones achieved.

After the lesson, lesson participants of all ages will be able to track progress over time across lessons, seasons and different resorts in the Vail Resorts portfolio.

This enhanced set of new features will be available in the My Epic app for participants of child and adult group lessons at Vail Mountain, Beaver Creek, Breckenridge and Keystone.
The experience will be included in Adult and Child Group lessons, at participating resorts. In the initial 2025/26 winter season, the new features will not be available for private or specialty lessons. In future years, further expansions are planned for more mountain resorts and lesson types.
The new lesson features will deliver an elevated experience beyond that of Epic Mix Academy. Parents will enjoy streamlined digital check in, get real-time in-lesson updates and photos and track progress across lessons and seasons in-app instead of on-paper.
The new features will be accessible in the My Epic App for any members of your household. Household members include any individual connected to your My Epic Account. Upon booking a lesson for your child, you will see lesson details and be able to complete check-in steps prior to lesson start.
At the start of the day, log into the My Epic app and make sure push notifications are enabled. Then as your child’s lesson gets going, you’ll receive exciting updates when something Epic happens!

Within the My Epic app, you’ll get real-time updates on your child’s adventure – like badges they’ve earned and photos of the fun along the way. Once the lesson is over, check back to see a full summary including photos from the day, detailed skills progression tracking, and post-lesson instructor comments.
Yes. The My Epic app will allow you to download and share your lesson photos via text, email, and social media.
Digital check in allows you to complete all the necessary paperwork prior to arrival in the app – electronic release of liability, emergency contact information, and allergy and special concern information. This will allow our staff to have a completed arrival packet for pick up when you arrive at the designated meeting point, meaning you will not have to complete this paperwork the day of the lesson.
Yes. All of the information in your profile including lesson photos, badges earned, and skill level progression history, will be stored and available in future seasons. For parents it’s like having a personal roadmap for your child’s skiing or riding journey. You’ll see exactly where they left off and know what to book next to keep the momentum, fun and learning going strong!
Yes. Parents and guardians who share a household with the lesson taker will be able to access their child’s profiles to view upcoming lessons and access photos, badges and skills
Yes. The My Epic app allows you to opt-out of photos so that instructors know not to include you or your child in any on-mountain photos during the lesson.

The photo features are designed with privacy and security in mind. This means photos will be taken only of you or your child and never shared with others. Also, photos will be contained only within the app and stored securely (not directly on an instructor’s device).
In addition to providing a world-class lesson experience, instructors will be assessing and logging new skills learned across different types of terrain and runs. At the end of the lesson, your skills progression tracking is analyzed and displayed over time.
