Boogie down with a lineup of spring events and skiing and riding into May!

Spring? Sprung!

Posted March 6, 2025

Spring is one of our favorite times of the year at Breck. High Alpine, good vibes and great events, impeccable style – what's not to love?! Lucky for you, there are plenty of chances to get your spring on at Breck with the resort regularly scheduled to operate into mid-May! Thanks to a base elevation of 9,600 feet above sea-level, including the highest chairlift in North America – the Imperial SuperChair – and the good work of our friend, Ullr, Breck often boasts spectacular spring snow conditions, and offers one of the longest-running ski seasons of any major resort in the country. This year our planned closing date is Sunday, May 11.

Check out more deets on our late spring operations here on our website (note, terrain becomes intermediate-and-above-only in late April) and read on below for the scoop on all the ways to amp up the spring vibes while you’re here in Breck. From T-Bar to TBar, the snow to the beach, from the peaks to the beats, spring is all about the good vibrations with a lineup of après parties, DJ music, and events to celebrate on snow.

Ski. Ride. Après. Repeat.

Breck’s Imperial Challenge – April 5, 2025

The Imperial Challenge is a unique, wild, and fun pseudo-triathlon, test of athleticism, rite of spring, and all around community party where local folks and uphill enthusiasts alike gather in Breck to race to the top of Peak 8 at 13,000 feet above-sea-level! Participants start in town at 9,600 feet above sea-level and race to the base of Peak 7 at Breckenridge Ski Resort on foot or on bicycle, then transition over to uphill skis or splitboards and skins to make their way uphill to the top of Peak 8 before racing back down again. This route is no easy feat with nearly 4,000 feet of elevation gain and approximately 10 miles of human-powered travel. This year’s event takes place on Saturday, April 5, 2025. Spandex, tutus and costumes are always encouraged! For more information and to register, visit RaceBreck.com

NEW Peaks & Beats – April 26-27, 2025

Springtime is all about good times and the high alpine at Breck, and we’re bringing it all together with our new spring bash, Peaks & Beats. Double down on all your favorite spring staples – high alpine laps, live music and DJs, and the annual tradition of pond skimming, with a new two-day format for two times the big Breck energy. That’s right! Two days of free concerts AND two days of pond skimming. Send it into spring in style with us at Peaks & Beats when it all goes down this spring at the center of the universe, the base of Peak 8. After our first day of pond skimming on Saturday, Dombresky will take the stage for a free live DJ set followed by Cassian throwing it down after the second pond skim sesh on Sunday. Costumes are not required but are strongly encouraged, so get out your favorite onesie, your brightest neon, or your most water-resistant denim and join us for all the fun this spring. We’ll be sharing more details on pond skim registration in April

We’ll say it again. Ski. Ride. Après. Repeat.

See you out there!
