Emergency Procedures

Safety at the Village

Your safety and security are of the utmost concern to us. We urge you to familiarize yourself with the following information,
and hope that these procedures will contribute to your comfort and well-being during your stay.

SAFE DEPOSIT BOXES
The front desk has small deposit boxes to hold items such as jewelry or passports. Not all rooms have safes but the Front Desk has small
deposit boxes at the desk cannot fit purses, computers, or anything larger than 4” x 2”.

DOUBLE LOCKS AND/OR DOOR CHAINS
For additional security, utilize the dead bolt lock provided on your door upon entering.
This will prevent the door from being opened by a regular room key.

ADMITTANCE

Do not admit persons into your room without first identifying them.
If there is any doubt about the person’s identity, please contact the Front Desk.

KEYS
Safeguard your key. Do not leave it in your room or in the door. Do not give it to others.
Keep keys away from cell phones or credit cards as they do de-magnetize easily.

Fire Safety Procedures

For the safety of our guests, the Village at Breckenridge is equipped with a sophisticated fire prevention and alarm system.
The system includes smoke detection devices, automated alarms, and sprinkler systems.

LOCATE ALL EXITS UPON ARRIVAL
Upon arrival, locate all exits on your floor. Use the reference map on the back of your entry door for visual display.
Count the number of doors between your room and the fire exits in case of smoke.

DO NOT USE THE ELEVATORS!
In case of an actual fire, they could stop at the fire floor, trapping occupants.

WHAT TO DO IF FIRE ALARM SOUNDS
If the door to your room feels hot, do not open it. Seal all cracks with wet towels.
Use the telephone to call the Hotel Operator and await further instructions and assistance.

If the door to your room feels cool, open cautiously. Take your room key. Go to the nearest exit.
Crawl under any smoke; fresh air will be at floor level. Take short breaths through your nose until you reach an area of refuge.
