Letting kids explore the best of Colorado's mountains.

Drop the kids off for a half-day or full-day of adventures at Breckenridge Ski Resort June 3 - Sept. 2. They'll gain valuable outdoor skills while participating in activities centered around science, nature, crafts, imagination and more! Ages 5-12 welcome.

Reservations required to guarantee a spot. Walk-Up availability determined by 8:00 am. Please call 1800-789-7669, two days prior to desired day to reserve a space. 5 Pack holders may book any day throughout season and must call for reservation as well.

Afternoon Half Day Check-in: 12:15-12:30 (lunch included)
Am Activity begins at 10:00, PM activity begins at 1:45

Check in: 7:35am - 9:30am
Pick up: 4:15pm - 5:30pm

Doors open at 7:30am

All camp operations take place at the Kids Castle on Peak 8. Breckenridge Summer Camps run June 3 - September 1, 2013.

What to Bring

Campers will spend a good deal of time outdoors and as Colorado's weather is particularly hard to predict, we ask each camper bring the following:

Hat

Sturdy hiking shoes

Sunscreen

Waterproof rain jacket

Immunization records*

*Without complete immunization records, the child will not be permitted into the camp. Please call 970-453-5000 for clarification.

Lunch & Snacks

Lunch and snacks are included in the price of each day's camp. We are a nut-free facility, please let us know if your child has any food allergies prior to your arrival. If your child has a specific dietary need please pack a lunch and snack.

Week 1 (June 3-June9): Ma-Ma-Ma-Mammals

Lions, and Tigers, and Bears. OH MY! This week we will be learning about Colorado Mammals. Through explorations stations, art, and outdoor adventures we’ll search high and low for signs of bear, deer, marmots, and so much more.

Week 2 (June 10- June 16): Bird’s Eye View

At the Kastle on Peak 8, we have a Bird’s Eye View of Breckenridge. From Herons to Hawks, we’ll identify the flighty wildlife of Summit County. Campers will even get to try out BEING a bird.

Week 3 (June 17-June 23): Flora & the Forest

Identify trees, admire flowers, wack the weeds, and contemplate the pine beetle. All this (and more) as we explore the flora and forest of Breckenridge through nature hikes and garden tours. We’ll even get a chance to plant our own seeds!

Week 4 (June 24-June 30): Utes, Arapaho, Comanche, OH MY!

Since 1500, Native Americans have inhabited the plains and mountains of Colorado. Almost 20 tribes have called Colorado home at one point or another. This week we will be focusing on Colorado Native American history and heritage.

Week 5 (July 1-July 7): Golddiggers

Eureka! There’s gold in these hills! We will learn about Colorado Mining History through activities and games. We’ll even get to mine for some gold and visit a historic mine! Good Luck!

Week 6 (July 8- July 14): KnapSack On My Back

So, you want to go camping, but don’t know where to start? Our introduction to camping week is just the place to begin. This week we will be learning the basics of camping: what to pack in your day bag, how to pick a camp site, how to tie a trucker’s hitch, and so much more.

Week 7 (July 15-July 21): Light My Fire & Leave No Trace

Two of the most important factors in the wilderness are food and fire. This week we will discuss some of the best foods to take into the wilderness, ways to cook the food, and best practices for what to do when you’re done eating. Highlights Include: Trail Mix, Solar Ovens, and Bear bags.

Week 8 (July 22- July 28): Are we there yet?

Is this map upside down?! This week at camp we will look more closely at map reading and orienteering. Campers will discover compasses, make maps, and search for buried treasure.

Week 9 (July 29- August 4): LOST!

Shipwrecked on a desert island? Plane crashed on a mountainside? Stranded in the backcountry? Together, we will learn wilderness survival skills and emergency preparedness for the worst possible scenarios.

Week 10 (August 5- August 11): Let me Swing Among the Stars

Fly me to the moon, and let me swing among the stars. This galactic camp is chocked full of solar shenanigans, earthly escapades, and galactic games. To infinity……

Week 11 (August 12- August 18): We will Rock You

Science ROCKS! Literally. From the low-lying eastern plains, to the central peaks soaring more than 14,000 feet above sea level, to the western red-rock canyons, this week we will delve into the unique geologic history of Colorful Colorado. This week will ROCK your world!

Week 12 (August 19- August 25): This Land is Your Land, This Land is My Land

Imagine the world 10 years from now. 50 years. 100 years. What does our natural resource supply look like? In this camp we will focus on sustainability, and making sure that future generations will have water, materials, and resources.

Week 13 (August 25-September 1): Mad Science

Get ready to lose your mind in the vast and exciting world of chemistry! This camp is full of reactions, observations, solutions, concoctions, and explosions!
