Child Ski & Ride School Lesson Information

All of the fun and none of the homework! Kids are on the snow and learning the fundamental moves of skiing or riding in a positive team building atmosphere that is catered to their ability level. Your children will develop their skills along side other kids while being taught by the most experienced Pros. While combining elements of passion and creativity, your kids are able to learn and develop a life long love and passion for the sport.

Peak 8 Ski and Ride School Location Information

There are three locations available for Ski School. Make sure that you meet at the correct location as directed in your ski school confirmation email. The Peak 8 Ski School is located at the base of Peak 8, and The Village and Beaver Run locations are located on Peak 9. 

Main Map

To get to the Peak 8 Ski & Ride school, park in the Gondola North or Gondola South lots in town and ride the BreckConnect Gondola up to Peak 8 (last stop on the gondola).  From there visit the Kid’s Castle or the Adult Ski & Ride Sales office to check in for your lesson.  If you have adult lessons and children’s lessons reserved please check in at the Kid’s Castle first.

Village Ski and Ride School Location Information

Ultimate Four Information

Children’s Ultimate Four classes are designed for all levels of skiers or snowboarders (EpicMix Academy Levels 1-9) and will provide your child with individualized instruction due to the small class size, guaranteed to be four or fewer students in the group! 

All participants are required to wear a helmet. 
Class Ages: 4-14

Class Schedule:

  • 8:00 – 8:30am - Check in at the sales office on first day of Ultimate Four class to pick up tickets and rentals (if applicable). Check in the day prior to your lesson to save time the next morning, sales offices open 8:00am-4:30pm daily! 
  • 8:00 – 8:45am - Drop off for Ultimate Four participants who have already checked in and picked up their tickets.
  • 9:00am  Ultimate Four classes form and begin!
  • Lunch - Lunch at an on-mountain restaurant is included in the Ultimate Four class!  Lunch is usually around 11:45am but will depend on the group and the pro’s lesson plan that day.  You will receive your child’s lunch voucher upon check in and they need to bring it with them to class.
  • 3:00pm - Class dismissed!  Pick up kids at the designated Ultimate Four pick up spot. If the kids want to do it again tomorrow please stop in the sales office to sign up!

Slope safety is of the utmost importance in Breckenridge, familiarize yourself with Your Responsibility Code before starting your day on the mountain!


Group Lesson Information

Children’s group classes are designed for first time up to advanced skiers or snowboarders (EpicMix Academy Levels 1-9). These classes will provide your kids will the basic skills needed to be safe and enjoy the mountain while developing their skiing or riding technique and skills in a fun, group environment. 

All participants are required to wear a helmet.
Class Ages: 4-14 

Class Schedule:

  • 8:00 – 8:30am - Check in at the sales office on first day of Children’s Group Lessons to pick up tickets and rentals (if applicable). Check in the day prior to your lesson to save time in the morning, sales offices open 8:00am-4:30pm daily!
  • 8:00 – 9:15am - Drop off for kids who have already checked in and picked up their tickets/rentals.
  • 9:30am - Classes form and begin!
  • 12:15 – 1:30pm - Lunch Break  Most groups return to our Children’s Facilities for lunch.  We serve kid’s favorites with a healthy spin to fuel their time on the mountain.  Look forward to chicken tenders, pizza, pasta, sub sandwiches, and sliders, all served with sides of fruit and vegetables, plenty of water and a small dessert!  Intermediate and Advanced level students may eat at one of our on-mountain restaurants depending on the pro’s lesson plan and where they are skiing.
  • 1:30pm - Get back outside for more fun on the slopes!
  • 3:30pm - Class dismissed!  Pick up kids at the designated pick up spot. If the kids want to do it again tomorrow please stop in the sales office to sign up!

Three year old information

Our program for three year olds is designed to help give them a positive introduction to skiing or snowboarding and to work with them at their developmental level.  This program will provide your three year old with a full day of fun and learning! 

All participants are required to wear a helmet. 

Class Schedule:

  • 8:00 – 8:30am - Check in at the sales office on first day of Children’s Group Lessons to pick up tickets and rentals (if applicable). Check in the day prior to your lesson to save time in the morning, sales offices open 8:00am-4:30pm daily!
  • 8:00 – 9:15am - Drop off for kids who have already checked in and picked up their tickets/rentals.
  • 9:30am – 3:00pm - Each three year old will have a 1 – 1 private lesson with an instructor for one hour during the day.  The instructor has the opportunity to work individually with one student at a time to teach them specifically at their level.  When the kids are inside they are with a Discovery Guide who works with them doing a variety of activities, including arts and crafts, learning about their ski/snowboard equipment, playing group games, yoga, and more!
  • 12:15 – 1:30pm - Lunch Break  The three year olds all eat together in the facility.  We serve kid’s favorites with a healthy spin to fuel their time on the mountain.  Look forward to chicken tenders, pizza, pasta, sub sandwiches, and sliders, all served with sides of fruit and vegetables, plenty of water and a small dessert! 
  • 3:00pm - All of the three year olds go outside for a group ski in the learning yard, this is a great time to come watch!
  • 3:30pm - Class dismissed!  Pick up kids at the designated pick up spot.  If the kids want to do it again tomorrow please stop in the sales office to sign up!

What to bring to your lesson

  •     Lift ticket (if you did not book it in a package with your lessons)
  •     Ski or Snowboard equipment, have this on and be ready to go when you report to your lesson meeting area.
  •     Waterproof pants
  •     Waterproof jacket
  •     Waterproof mittens/gloves (if your hands get cold opt for mittens!)
  •     Goggles
  •     Helmet (highly recommended)
  •     Sunscreen
  •     Dress in layers for warmth and for changing weather conditions
  •     All lesson participants age 18 and over are required to sign a Ski & Ride School Assumption of Risk, Hold-Harmless, Release of Liability and Indemnity Agreement.  Participants under age 18 need a parent/guardian to sign one for them.  Failure to do so will result in one being prohibited from participation.


Helpful Tips:

  • Check in the afternoon before your first lesson. Sales lobbies are open 8:00am – 4:30pm daily, with extended hours during holiday periods.
  • Advance Purchase pricing only available when booking lessons at least two days ahead of time, reserve the most lessons you may want to secure the best price instead of adding on at the resort!
  • All of our students receive an EpicMix Academy report card which can be seen by setting up an Epic Mix account online!

Cancellation Policy Information

We hope you are able to join us for the lessons you've reserved! If you are not able to, please keep the following in mind:

  • All participants must arrive on time. Late arrival may result in cancellation of the reservation.
  • Reservations are charged to the form of payment up to two days prior to the start of the lessons.
  • Reservations may be cancelled a minimum of one day prior to the start date of the lessons.
  • Cancelling a reservation on the day it is to begin or after it was to begin may result in a cancellation fee equal to that of the products reserved.
  • Lessons will not be cancelled due to weather.
  • Once a reservation has begun we will offer a refund of unused lessons based on the price difference of the originally purchased product and the product that was used.
  • The Adult First Time Discovery Series is not eligible for any refunds once the reservation has begun.
  • All lesson participants age 18 and over are required to sign a Ski & Ride School Assumption of Risk, Hold-Harmless, Release of Liability and Indemnity Agreement.  Participants under age 18 need a parent/guardian to sign one for them.  Failure to do so will result in one being prohibited from participation.
