Spartan Race at Breck 2015

Breckenridge Ski Resort plays host to the 3+ mile sprint and 13+ mile beast. Will you conquer the slopes, or will the mountain and altitude break you first? Spartans will descend on Breckenridge in an attempt to be the first to conquer this treacherous mountain, will you be a part of them? Knock off two-thirds of your Trifecta in one weekend and Spartan up! 

Race Information

The Elite Men’s and Women’s Spartan Sprint competition will be the featured race to be filmed by NBC Sports on Saturday, June 13, 2015. In addition, NBC Sports will be on course all weekend filming the best stories in obstacle racing, so show up with your team and make sure to keep an eye out for the cameras!

Start: 7:30am
Waves: 250 athletes will be released every 15 minutes across 3 groups (Elite, Morning, Afternoon).
Racers: If you want to race for a prize, show up for the elite heat.

Sprint

Distance: 3-5 miles
Obstacles: 20-23

  • Terrain: From steep inclines to rocky, single/wide track descents, Breckenridge is a mountain with steep terrain and we plan to use it to its maximum potential! That means a great deal of elevation change from start to finish.
  • Avg. Temperature: High 67.9, Low 33.3
  • Avg. rainfall: 1.25 in.
  • Elevation: Starting at the base of 9,600 ft.
  • Avg. finish time: 80 minutes
  • Fastest finish time: 40 minutes
  • Special gear needed: Racers should plan to bring a headlamp and appropriate fuel for their needs. No fuel will be provided on course, only water. Hydration packs (or water containers of some variety) are strongly suggested for all racers.
  • Lodging: Visit our Lodging Finder to find the perfect home away from home.


Beast

Distance: 12-14 miles
Obstacles: 30-35

Team Registration

Build a team: Strength comes in numbers.

Call out your friends, co-workers and loved ones to get off the couch and into the mud.

Whether they’re helping you over the wall or chasing you up the mountain, make sure they’re with you at the starting line.

Teams can be any size but must have at least 4 members to be included in the team rankings.

Parking and Spectating

Carpooling is encouraged. There is no parking at Peak 8.

Suggested Parking

There is no parking available at Beaver Run Resort.

A Limited number of VIP Parking Spots at Lot F are available for only $40. Park directly at the race site and walk to the starting line. 

VIP Parking Location:
VIP/ADA parking will be located at the F Lot parking lot, located on South Park Avenue at the base of Village Road. For GPS reference, please utilize 305 South Park Avenue, Breckenridge CO 80424.
All VIP/ADA vehicles will be required to have an appropriate parking pass or credentials.

Racer/Spectator Parking Location:
All other Spartan racers and spectators are asked to park at the Satellite Parking Lot, located on Airport Road. For GPS reference, please utilize 1655 Airport Road, Breckenridge CO 80424.

The Town of Breckenridge will be providing complimentary shuttle service to and from the race venue.

You can also ride on the free bus system in Breck. Get off at the Beaver Run stop to be dropped off closest to the action.

Spectators: Bring your friends and family (your biggest fans). 

Bring your friends and family to the race to watch you conquer obstacles, dominate the finish line and receive your medal!

Racers, your fans will motivate you over the wall and past the finish line. You wouldn't believe how far a cheering section will go when you’re exhausted. Your fans will also enjoy music, raffles, entertainment, and festival challenges.

Most importantly, fans will receive a front row seat to watch racers from a safe, comfortable, and relatively mud-less (no promises) Spartan Race festival ground area! And, when it’s over, they receive muddy hugs from thrilled Spartan athletes. After all, what’s a sport without fans?

Cost: $20 Online until Friday prior to the Event. $25 on site (Cash Only).
